Super Knife
Columbia River Knife & Tool or (CRKT) started making knives in 1994. Its headquarters is located in Tualatin, Oregon. Although States are in States most knives that are manufactured in China or Taiwan. Columbia River Knife & Tool was founded by Rod Bremer and Paul Gillespie. These two men used to work for Kershaw knives.
Columbia River Knife & Tool had a slow start, but in 1998 came with a small knife called the Witch KISS means Keep It Simple Super. This knife was designed by Ed Halligan. The kiss was Columbia River Knife & Tools first success. KISS outsole out the first day. This was a huge boost to the blade Columbia River and tools.
Columbia River Knife and Tool for numerous patents. Two of the most obvious are not AutoLAWKS patents, and help mechanism. Two characteristics that Columbia River Knife & Tool knife away from other manufactures. The AutoLAWKS is a safety feature. This is a line Typical blocking an extra touch that has a small lever to ensure that the lock will not quit. And it's so quick to open and close, all they do is keep a small lever and folds up like all other pocket knives. Now, the patent I think is the best feature that Columbia River Knife & Tool has is the assist mechanism. This is just a small lever on the back of the blade and then tap it opens the knife. It is a feature that I like my Columbia River Knife & Tool and I'm sure he'd love to do.
In 2000 the U.S. Customs seized a shipment of knives to Columbia River Knife & Tool worth more than $ 4.3 million. The inspector believes that because of the assistance was opening mechanism very similar to a knife, even thought these knives pocket had thought many customs before, this time they did not. After 17 days CRKT knives came back. Even thought the knife pocket is very easy and quick to open any of them fit the definition of a switchblade knife as defined by the U.S. Switch Blade Act 1958.
Columbia River Knife & Tool make great knives, hunting knives and knives for the military. They also make many different tools that are of high quality. These knives are simple but creative at the same time. I am more than happy with mine and I am sure you would be happy with one too.
